Goodmorning!

Wow. A day full of classes and meetings, lunch from god-knows-where, a large dinner, and a protein bar (since this was what was handy) to meet my protein goal - and I still only consumed 850 calories yesterday.

I did great at the meetings. I brought my own lunch, and had it in our break at 11, so it was just as when I always have lunch.

Then, of course, came the "real" lunch at 12:30. I wasn't gonna eat anything, but they had some nice sandwiches with good chunks of chicken breasts, so I took one apart and just had the chicken. Nothing else. It was good too, nice and juicy.

Dinner was a GREAT soup with chunks of beef. I just love when Wife makes soups. She's the best.

...

The scale says I am up 200g today. I don't really care. My body fat % is down by 1.5%, and my water is up by 1500g. There is a CLEAR fat loss, which is what matters most. If I behave through the weekend and stay away from the sugars and carbs in general, then the water will shed before I know it. I'm pretty certain I will reach my goals in time. All I need to do is to keep doing what I'm doing.

...

My eating right now is a little extreme on the low side. I'm doign okay though. I have a keen eye on my well being, and I make sure that I get all the nutrients I need for this to work.

Actually, my nutrients are what I focus on almost exclusively.

I eat ENOUGH protein and ENOUGH fat, and as little carbs as I can within reason. Most days I'm under 50g, and that is fine by me. I think this is a good place to be. Some days I'm WAY under, and very few days I'm just a tad over, but not much.

What do the Atkins people say? What's a good non-extreme number to reach for?

...

My workout is done, and I'm at work. I didn't do my walk just yet - Wife asked if we could walk this afternoon, and I would MUCH rather that she joins me. We had a very enjoyable morning, and it was nice to not have to be out the door at 5:45 to make it for both walk and workout.

I will wait having lunch until I leave at 1PM, then eat with Wife and then we'll walk. Sounds like a great beginning of the weekend. Boy do I need a weekend.

...

I'm actually very proud - and very surprised - that I managed to stay away from stress eating yesterday.

You see, I'm the superuser on MANY of the PC systems here at work, and there are a LOT of new, restrictive rules being implemented. People have to re-think and re-learn the way they work, and I was the one passing on the information at one of the meetings yesterday.

Talk about shooting the messenger.

I was as well prepared as I possibly could be, and after a while they started calming down and began to actually hear what the message behind it all was.

I think I did good. At least I got a great review from my leader. :)

...

Today is gonna be a great day. Workout done, early home from work, lunch with Wife, a nice walk, Baked Trout for dinner, and relaxation with a good movie or two. Does it get any better?

...

Today, I'm thankful for:
- Wife!
- FULL FOCUS and doing great!
- Weekend!

I wish my husband and I could spend more time together doing stuff together but they out him on nights a few months ago and he works as a welder 6-7 days a week and preaches on Sundays. Keep enjoying every minute of it!

Hi Keld, as a former Atkins followers, and really do still do low carb as much as possible, for weight loss they recommend 20g carbs, 15 of that to be veggies. But for normal life I try to be betweebn 30-50 on a good day, and no more than 100 on a terrible day. Sounds like you are rocking your plan. You are going low cal right now because you need to get in ready for surgery. You are making sure you are getting the nutrients you need and the calories are a secondary issue. So you sound like you are doing what needs done. And so glad that the stressors from yesterday didn't derail you, and its wonderful that you love your wife so much, and enjoy her company so much. You two are indeed in the minority and very lucky to have each other. Have an awesome day.
