Back from consultation (35% BMI). 30 minutes weight training....at the end I thought I was going to be sick. Price quoted for 2 home visits per month is $130. Their goal is to get me to 1time per week $240 a month. I know nothing about this...is it a good price? Is it worth it? HELP!

I couldn't afford it, but I'm not sure what a good price is. I know here at the Y, if you do a trainer session with a friend they give you a discounted rate. If nothing else call around to some of the gyms in your area and compare prices. If you feel like it's worth the price then I'd say stick with the trainer until you feel comfortable going at it on your own. Good luck!

Thanks. It's a year commitment. I am thinking with the money I'd be spending, I would certainly not allow myself to slack too much because I hate to waste money! Accountability goes a long way, too.

I have no idea what a personal trainer costs. I have preferred to do it on my own. Besides, I can't really afford that. I think mars has a good idea. Call around and check. Can't hurt!!

That seems like a lot to me. I know the gym I was part of before I started traveling had weekly sessions with a personal trainer for $100. You met 3 days a week, they worked with you, showed you what to do that week, and updated you on your progress.
