Reina Estrella's Journal, 11 November 2008

My cousin died on Sunday while I was outta town. He was 30 years old and died from cancer. He was fine a week ago, or so it seemed. Life is so short. I want to live and live well...I'm tired of being fat and lazy.

I have to get up and go outside and take care of myself because life is a privelege, a beautiful gift and I want to live mine happily...

Been terrible on my diet. I always seem to cheat and fall off for weeks at a time. I'm sick of it.

I really want to change and I'm going to give it another shot...

sorry to hear about your loss. Just the fact that you are posting to this site, and making the effort to lose weight is one of the first steps to making the changes you need. As Sim said, Old habits are hard to break, but it is doable. The one thing I can't stress enough is PLAN PLAN PLAN. You need to make the time for yourself, and plan out your meals, take a day that you have time to prepare some meals for the week. Put them in portion size containers so you can just grab and go...might help you stay on track. Good luck!

You are back here, that is step one, good job on coming back! I'm sorry about your cousin. It took a tragic death of one of my cousins (years ago) for me to realize the importance of seat belt safety, which at the time, was completely optional, until the bill passed that next year. He would have had 50% chance of survival IF he'd worn it. He was only 19, had a 6 month old baby and had gotten married and just turned his life around when he got hit head on by a drunk driver. I take hearing of ppl drinking and driving very offensive, as it kills. Life is a precious blessing! We do need to make the most of this amazing gift that we've been given and take the best care of OURSELVES first! We can DO IT!! Lets kick some butt babes!

Keep trying until it works. Trust me. This is my 3rd, and hopefully last, try. But if I do mess up, I'll just try again. Good luck =]

I'm so sorry. And you are right - life is too short. Time to start living the life you've always wanted to live. Several months ago sararay made the comment that she was going to start living as if she were thin. I think that's such a good way to start thinking positive and feeling the importance of what you are doing. And you're back - so that's step one!

I am so sorry to hear about your cousin - it is very sad that he died so young. I admire your trying again - life always has good and bad days and you are right about making the most of it - it is definitely precious! I'm pulling for you!
