Hey everyone. I'm Gianna and I'm 14 years old, 5'2" and currently 128 lbs.

I've decided to stop counting calories and just eat healthy foods and smaller proportions. So I wont be updating my diet calender anymore but I'll be posting journal entries and updating my weight approx. every Sunday.

I'm sorry but this is a MAJOR misunderstanding. The only reason that I weight myself three times a day is because my scale is broken and I want to make sure that I am getting an accurate reading. And I stated that in my post! So don't twist things around to make me look bad!

And yes! I do want to change now "before it's too late"!! Before I become an overweight adult and don't want to deal with losing weight! I want to get healthy now so then I can have a better life! The reason I said 750 calories (for that one single day) was better than 1800 was because I incorperated fruits, veggies and dairy into my diet for that day, and it only added up to 750 calories. (actually, I had some veggie soup after that entry and got up to 900 calories.) The day before I had consumed 1800 calories because of unnecessary snaking. So I figured that eating healthy foods was better than eating a bunch of unhealthy snacks. And yes. I consider Fridays my cheating day. I'm trying very, very hard not to eat any snacks during the week/weekends. So, I allow myself to have SOME bad food on Fridays. If I didn't eat ANY bad food ever I would go crazy! I mean I am a teenager and I'm still obviously going through puberty. Do you remember being a teenager and how much you loved all those greesy foods? But the thing is, I don't eat chips, McDonalds, BurgerKing, TacoBell or anything like that. I do eat chips once in a blue moon at parties. But I don't really LOVE fast food. I'd rather have a nice salad. Which I do. I have salad nearly every night with dinner. Only last week for whatever reason we haven't really been cooking dinner. (we always cook dinner every night). So i've been having salad FOR dinner. So my calories have been much lower than usual and innaccurate. So, anyways, allowing myself but one day to eat something "tasty" for one meal is so horrible? I'm still making sure I don't eat too much of it and such.

And please take this into account! I am NOT doing this as a diet. Like, get down to 125 pounds and then eat whatever I want. No! I honestly don't care how long it takes; I just want to lose weight, be happy, be healthy, and live a much better life than I'm living now!

I really don't understand how you can find me as being immature?? All I'm trying to do is change my life in a healthy manner. I consider that to be very mature.

Wow, are you kidding me? I hate that nearly all adults think that "kids" are going to "destroy" their lives by trying to lose weight. News flash! We're trying to get healthy! I, personally, am eating as healthy as possible to lose weight. And I honestly don't consider this a diet, but a lifestyle change. Not all teenagers turn to eating nothing in order to lose weight or making themselves throw up. Some people actually take a lot of time and MAJOR effort to turn down unhealthy foods and make healthy choices. And just because I am 14 does NOT mean I need to see a nutritionist. I am old enough to know what is healthy and what is not. Please stop making it sound like all teenagers are "desperate" to lose weight and will do anything to do so. It's obviously not true. Many, many teenagers like myself are well aware of what they are doing with their diets and we don't need lectures by adults on how we are "jeopardizing our futures."
