The calories got away on me a little bit yesterday. Having those chips around the house hasn't worked out so well. I removed the temptation of the chips the same way I removed the cookie temptation last week. By eating them all. Oh well, now they're gone.

You know it's ok to throw them away if they are too much of a temptation or not purchase them in the first place. There are certain things I HAVE to avoid, because if I happen to be weak willed one day all hell breaks loose and it's an eating bonanza. I know people cringe at the thought of throwing perfectly good food away, but some times you have got to do what is best for you. As you have said in the past though, you're primed for a a loss now!

Haha, yes, I'm primed for sure. You're right, I should have just thrown the chips away. And, if I had put the cookies in a container and put them away, I would have been fine. Out of site, out of mind. Throwing those away wasn't an option though because HC baked them.

Ah..yes fresh baked goods. That's probably the most torturous thing I do to myself is still bake for J. I did manage to bake a whole cake for him and only have a 1" x 2" little piece. I needed to make sure it didn't taste like crap. J had once picked out a package of little chocolate chip cookies and they reminded me so much of these cookies I had as a kid. I had to get rid of them. I felt bad about it, cause he likes his dessert, but even tucked in the cupboard I knew they were there. I have really tried to seperate that emotion from the food. It's really hard though. One thing that works for me, is if I actually look up the calorie content and portion out an amount for myself rather than eating directly from the bag. Like an ounce of tortilla chips. It doesn't ALWAYS work, but a good amount of the time I am ok with that.

oh for sure. portioning out helps. and as much as I hate added packaging...sometimes the individually wrapped items (like my currently residing Godiva chocolates) are a good thing because then I can pull out 1 or 2 (which incidentally is only 1/5 or 2/5's of a serving and not have an "open" package. but even with chocolate bars, if they have "squares" stamped into them, it helps cuz then I can do calculations and come up with "portions". but there are days........ I went crazy with raisins last night. But I thought "hey, these are my grapes I grew on my porch that I spent the energy harvesting and drying....there's no added ANYTHING, and there's all the energy spent going into producing the raisins....dammit, I'm gonna enjoy them."

hehe, thanks! Don't say too much though or you'll jinx it. I did get under 200 in 2004 for like a day before going on a vacation and blowing the whole thing. Will be nice to reach that point again and then keep going.

And don't think that I don't see you there keeping pace with me. You keep talking about screwing up and having bad days but you are loosing weight just as fast as I am. One slip by me and we'll be even!

:O I can't deny that I might secretly do a little victory dance if I ever do catch up, but only cause you have an advantage. However I am not counting on, I would never wish for you to stall out, you are doing awesome! You will get there for sure, and for longer than a day, maybe TWO ;)
