So far, we are a lot a like. Wine, wine, wine.. (it's my pic too) I will be 39 in November so I'm guessing we are fighting the same, "before 40 battle". Here's where we differ, you are at my goal weight!!! Jealous!!! Anyway, I'm pretty new here as well and will gladly encourage you along the way. We all need support in everything we do! Hmmm, wonder what comes up if I google carb free wine??? lol!

So I googled it... I also found that Amazon has some low carb wines. It's worth a look. :) Maybe there is a way to have both after all.

ladies, I am not in the 40s age group anymore :( but have had the same "wine" issue. First thing I had to do was not have it on a daily basis, 2nd was to switch to champagne in place of wine. Brut champagne has about 65 calories per 5 oz glass versus wine which has about 110 calories. I have found it to be a good replacement and also seems to have less alcohol content which suited me fine too. If you try it, tell me what you think.

ill have to go to amazon and look at a few there...i like the champagne idea cuz your right, wine does have more calories (ALOT)...ive heard drink red instead of white or a blush but they still have way to many calories...hopefully they make cheap redneck champagne!!!...lol!!!!

I keep looking at different wines I like and am happy to report that one of the cheaper reds I like only has 2.5 carbs and 102 calories per 5 oz glass. I'm watching carbs and have found that my calorie intake is pretty low. Actually, I never even hit my RDI of 2100 if I keep my carbs low. (we won't talk about fat grams for now lol). Sadly, most champagne gives me a headache. It may very well be the quantity of course. :) I'm a big red fan and if I can have even one glass of red each night at only 2.5 carbs per glass, I'd give up the atkins chocolate bar on those nights (if my daily intake is maxed out anyway). I think we may be on to something here. CCerza, do you know how many carbs are in the champagne? For the record, I'm ok with the higher alcohol content. ;)

i have no idea how many calories or carbs i should have a day...i may take in 700 calories a day without wine and maybe 1100 a day with wine...so the fewer calories a glass has the better!!!...how can i find out what i need to take in?...

Go to your diet calendar. At the bottom you will see the graph and chart of your daily intake. There is a link under it that says, "set my recommended daily intake" or something like that. It will take you to where you want to go to set you intake levels. The down side is that it only gives you an option of losing a pound a week max. Of course we want to lose more than that, so you will have to compensate for the difference.

This is all very helpful info. Another wine-lover here. Thanks to Rene, Dosslady, and CCerza. I'd send buddy requests, but haven't figured out how to do it yet!

Hey renobeno, I did a search on fat secret and the general amount of carbs per glass of champagne is 2.8 carbs

Thanks for following up on that. It's pretty much the same as wine in that area then. Good information to have. I'm about ready for a glass of 2. ;)
