please accept this message in the spirit of openness is not my intention to demean or to ignore anyone's personal experiences. I never have claimed to be an expert as it relates to Atkins dieting. The only thing I can express is my own personal experience essentially since the very first week I have used Atkins shakes and nutritional bars to supplement meals. I started at 338 pounds and am currently sitting at 221 pounds to date I have not noticed a slowdown in my weight loss but to be fair maybe I would have lost more weight, or lose it even faster had I never used the shakes and bars. Immediately after going to face to my own inpatients had not losing anything for a week or two had me questioning myself. There are a couple of things that never happened at the beginning of my dieting one I never measured myself to know if I am currently losing inches and I didn't start the diet on day one as I tried to empty my refrigerator and cabinets of non-Atkins stuff. Now my pants are feeding even looser even though I don't seem to be dropping weight as quick, but in all honesty I have less weight to lose so while your point that shakes/bars may slow things down I am believing that it is equally possible that my body is to giving use to my new weight; were in fact I may have been losing inches even though not pounds

I use both the shakes and the bars. I will usually have one shake and one bar per day for my snacks. They are easy and convenient for my busy lifestyle. They may or may not slow the weight loss process but to me they are worth it. Congrats on weight loss. That is amazing!! What you are doing is working for you.

As someone who also has a good amount of weight to lose I sometimes find that some things that seemed to work for me at 275 lbs no longer hold true at my current weight, so I re-evaluate and adjust. I talk with many, many people here daily, so am not sure if you had specifically been wondering why your weight loss had stopped or stalled or something along those lines, or if you are referring to a post that I made to someone else (I assume your message is to me since you PM'd it to me as well as wrote it here) in which I mentioned the products. I looked at people's food diaries in an attempt to understand and offered info on what is a common issue for many people stalling or stopping (multiple bars and shakes a day). If they work for you, you feel they are healthy, and are acceptable to you for whatever reason, that's great! It's not about being an "expert" anything...finding each individual's way of eating for life is what this is all about! :)
