Ok, I’m going to give ‘love another chance’. Isn’t that a song somewhere? Maybe it won’t be ‘love’ exactly but at least friendship to start and see where it goes from there. I met someone through mutual friends and they want to get us together. We talked on the phone and on Facebook, but that is about it so far. We will meet face to face for the first time this weekend. I’m a bit nervous but also a bit underwhelmed if you know what I mean. I have had so many heartbreaks I just feel like one more won’t matter and actually I’m not putting much faith into a relationship blooming. Guess that is the pessimist in me.
He seems receptive to us meeting and seems nice. But still I don’t want to ‘read’ more into it and end up getting put down or disappointed. Not sure what we will do, He lives about 60 miles away so he will have to drive over here. Thought we might met at the beach and go for a walk, or there is a free concert Sunday evening here at our city center but that might be late for him to get back to his home. I kind of don’t really know what to talk about! The last date I had with someone turned out to be a bummer, he turned out to be a ‘kook’ as a friend of mine said. So I don’t know, I’m not very sociable, I actually am not sure why I’m putting myself in this position right now. I really don’t need the drama that a relationship might bring. But then he said he isn’t looking for drama either. So I guess we will just try to relax and see where it goes. Wish me luck, not sure if we will met Saturday or Sunday, but whichever it is and after it is over I’ll be sure to write an update.
