Kathy Vanish's Journal, 27 July 2013

I am sure that I am smaller than when I started this journey in January as my clothes fit better. Also, onsite for work last week I had to tightened the waist and legs of my safety harness. I hadn't worn it since April. I think all the swimming is slimming me down and tightening up my muscles.

With that said I haven't lost any weight on the scale in a little more than two weeks. I have a doctor's appointment in September and want so much to have lost a significant amount of weight. My doctor told me last year that I would probably never lose the weight because of my hormone issues and I so bad want to prove him wrong.

My other issue is my lack of motivation lately to exercise other than swimming and boating. You might think it doesn't work anything but keeping yourself balanced when the boat is rocking or moving is actually a good leg workout but nothing compared to zumba or jillian michaels etc. Last time I lost this weight I had an exercise buddy. Well, we both got married and even though we only live 5 miles apart are lives don't seem to a line enough to workout together. I do miss walking with my twin every morning though. Yes, my workout buddy was my twin sister. I don't have any other friends except my husband and he doesn't nee to workout. Well, I will just have to kick myself in the ass and find a way to add more exercise into my already really active life because I can't cut any more calories. Trying to hit 1200 everyday is hard enough.

If I were swimming and boating, I think I'd be telling myself that was enough of a workout for the day. Maybe throw a different workout in a couple of times a week if you can and that might help push your loss. It is easier when you have someone to keep you accountable and to give you that push to do the exercise, but you can do this for yourself. And, maybe if you exercise a little bit more you can have a little over 1200 calories and still lose. Good luck!!

I've read that muscle weighs heavier than fat and certainly if you've noticed that your clothes are fitting better that got to be worth better than any number on a scale. Swimming is definitely meant to one of the best forms of exercise for an all over workout, so you're doing great there doing that. Aww... I can empathise with the lack of motivation to exercise and it can be hard to do it on your own. But I'm sure there are lots of virtual buddies here that would be willing to help with motivation. I too lost weight here previously and we can do it again! As Mars said, if you're doing exercise you can eat more and actually if you are exercising and eating minimal, it's very common for the scales to refuse to budge... often because peeps aren't eating enough to fuel their bodies. I don't know if you've heard of zig-zagging... but that's eating a different amount of calories a day... I've tried previously and it seems to work. If you go to this site and search "zig-zag" in the search box it will give you more information under the recommended calorie intake box: www.freedieting.com Hope that helps and just keep it up... as I'm sure you will get there in the end. :)
