Day #5 of lower carbs....feeling fine....doing well.

Under this plan, I'm not having any cheese, which seems odd to me. Luckily, this will be a short-term absence. "No cheese" is another part of the meat-and-egg thing that aligns with Dr. Eades' (Protein Power) recommendation of what to drop off the menu if one gets stalled. It's really pretty amazing how a number of low-carb WOEs actually match up pretty well in their recommendations. Each WOE (Atkins, Protein Power, Meat & Egg Fast, etc.) has its own nuance and points of emphasis, but, they agree more than they differ.....at least IMHO.

NO RAIN today - yippee! Doggies and I headed out for a walk, although it was a shorter one for them due to the hot, humid conditions. UGH Index still a 10, unfortunately. When I brought my Collie home (he went further than my Lab), I decided to hang it up myself and just go into the pool for some laps. Much more comfortable and accomplishes almost as much as continuing on my walk.

Sounds like a nice day even though UGH is 10! A walk and a swim - you are doing well, and glad the extra low LC is working for you, just the boost you likely needed.

Thanks Issy....I hope so. BTW, I just began to use coconut oil (1 tsp.) in my scrambled eggs in the morning since I wasn't adding any cheese. WOW!!! I may never go back to cheese in my eggs!!!

I've never tried coconut oil in eggs. I like my eggs DRY - doesn't it make them greasy? Glad you liked them though :)

It does make them moister, but you can get rid of a bit of that if you just cook them longer. I'm actually liking the greasier/moister texture! Also, 1 tsp. doesn't add a whole lot of extra grease when you scramble 2 eggs that way (plus some mushrooms and some chia seeds).

Never thought to try coconut oil for eggs but I love the stuff for everything else. I find when I fry chicken (heavily coated in steak seasoning)in just a little coconut oil it gives it the illusion of having been deep fat fried. BTW Sandy - nice to see you are doing so well!
