Dufresne's Journal, 22 September 2008

I am very disappointed. This week I have gone out of my way to walk and eat right. I walked 7 miles this week which is a lot for me. I haven't eaten out but once which was a salad. So I gained a pound instead of losing a pound.

If it makes you feel any better, I know what you mean. I am so frusterated. For at least 2 weeks now I have not missed one day of exercise. I have been doing a whole hour on the elliptical or treadmill and staying within my points just to find that since my last weigh in I gained 1.4 lbs. When I look at my calorie deficits, I am under every single day - some days even 1000 calories under - yet why do I gain? I thought if you have a deficit of 3500 calories, you lose a pound - well, not in my case. All I can say is keep plugging away and hopefully results will come. I don't know what else to think. My suggestion would be to really start recording everything, food intake, exersize, everything. Be as honest and as accurate as you can. You cannot tweak what you are doing to let you pull off the plateau if you don't know EXACTLY what you are doing. That has always been my issue in the past and I am finally doing this here on Fat Secret since the tools are SOOOO convenient!
