It's Corelicious this week. Corelicious is a local food festival put on by various restaurants in the downtown core; it follows the format of a three- or four-course prix fixe menu. Some friends invited us out to one of the participating restaurants this evening and we accepted... but now I'm getting cold feet.

Vacationing last week meant we ate out for at least one meal, sometimes two meals, a day. As much as I'm looking forward to spending time with our friends, a three course meal is going to blow my calorie count out of the water today. I know, I know, it's just one night. But I'm doing so well and I don't want to sabotage my progress.

I'll just have to remind myself that it's okay to leave food on my plate and order water instead of wine.

It sounds like fun! Just go and nibble. Can you get to go of your leftovers? You could have three meals off of one! You've gotta have fun.

You know, I should have figured that considering we were going to a "gourmet" restaurant, the portion sizes would actually be pretty reasonable, verging on the smaller side, so I didn't overeat at all. Unfortunately I ended up ingesting some gluten so I was bloated for a few days, but other than that, it was an enjoyable experience. :)
