Sherillynn's Journal, 30 May 2013

My focus for the next month will be portion control. Some days are easier than others. I like to try and fill up on raw veggies before I have my actual meal. Drinking lots of water beforehand is also helpful. Sometimes at work, the portions get larger than I should have. Its my own fault but something I must be aware of.

I am still losing weight, rather slowly but still heading in the right direction. Praise God I haven't given in after 6 months. I find that I need to keep evaluating almost daily, in order to stay on track. It's been helpful to have an accountability partner too.

My weight loss partner lost 100# last year so she knows the struggles. She has a lot more drive than I do but she is great at encouragement and she has so much enthusiasm. It is another small tool to use to insure my success.

I got my rhubarb pies made yesterday. I had a very small piece last night and I am satisfied. Now I won't crave or feel the need to cheat. I like them warm out of the oven and then I am done.I have a pie to deliver to the Aunt and Uncle here in the next hour. They gave us the rhubarb so the sharing of it will go full circle!

My Molly dog was so sick earlier in the week but the antibiotics have kicked in and I think she feels almost 100%. Yesterday, she didn't chase the cat off the porch in the morning when she went out to potty. Today, she ran the cat into the pine trees so I'd say she is back to normal. (I think the cat likes it better when she is sick!)

We got another 1.6" of rain last night. Still nothing in the corn fields yet. If this keeps up, we may have to start a fish farm as I fear most of our property will be under water.

Today, I am thankful for hot coffee, healing Molly dog, fresh rhubarb, my job, my husband and his family. Life is good!
