DAY 5: Monday morning dawned so beautifully, so I had to get photos while the light was reflecting off the glassy water!
We played a lot on the slide and the jet-ski until time to move out to go return it.
Returning the jet-ski proved to be QUITE a challenge and was easier said than done, as Jerod and I had to control the houseboat while Jerry and Jamie took the jet-ski to load on the trailer and drag it back to town. The problem was that the beach (where Jerry thought we could just sit and wait) was windy, and we immediately lost control of the houseboat as the wind blew it sideways to the beach! So, Jerod and I had to figure out how to move it away from the beach with only one of the two motors, because the other motor was practically buried in the sand. We finally managed to get away and then just floated out in the bay until we saw them return. Then we came back to the beach and picked them up quite masterfully, and returned to the deep water and another great beach for the night!
OUCH!! The weight I gained is so VISIBLE here! I only posted it to embarrass myself into getting rid of that AND MORE!!!
Monday night we had a huge bonfire, as the beach we selected had lots of driftwood on it. Jamie dug the fire pit over two feet deep and edged it with rocks, got a small fire started, and later put on a huge log that was over 12" in diameter, then put three more logs on top of that! The air was still, and there were a few gnats until we got the fire going -- then they just flew into it and we weren't bothered at all. Once again, we just sat and talked and watched the moon go down.
