More mowing on Saturday. The south yard has been mowed 3 times already, and it really needed raking the 1st time. I always rationalize that every time I mow, it will chop up all that dead grass finer and finer, and eventually it will just disappear. It doesn't really happen that way. I need some goats. You can wade through the dead grass. I'm stubborn though; I'm not raking it. Perhaps a million birds will make nests out of the grass. The Lord knows I'm feeding that many now. Apparently they are finding different nesting materials, not wanting to disturb the amber waves of grain in my yard.

Did some mechanic work on one of the riding lawn mowers when I got done with the mowing. Replacing some of the steering components on a very inaccessible and poorly designed machine. I got frustrated and had to walk away from it for a while. Kicking it would only cause me more work, and I've got enough to do already.

Took a break on Mother's day. Got DW a card from Me, and one from the dog. Took her out to eat at the restaurant of her choice, following church. Guess what she chose? Yep, Oriental. I wouldn't even attempt to document all the components in whatever I ate. The oriental buffet had added a stir fry counter since the last time we were there, so I loaded up a plate with raw chicken, jalapeno peppers, onions and told him to make it spicey. He did. Whooh! My forehead was wetter than the outside of a glass in a Sam Adams beer commercial. We topped off the day by taking flowers out to each of our Moms' graves.

Finished the 3rd Jillian Michaels Weight Loss workout. It hasn't gotten all that intense yet. All of the workouts are "incline intense." It's building a good base by beginning with rather short 20 minute workouts. I think I've got 3 more workouts before they all turn into at least 30 minute workouts at incline levels hovering around 11%. Bring it on, Jillian; if I was big enough to qualify for your show, you might beat me with pizza, but you wouldn't beat me with exercise!

The Jillian workouts sound good.... No doubt they will get harder. Racking the dead grass is the worse job... Mind you.. Good for your midriff area :-)

Hahaha - before I had actually started to read your journal, I had just seen the part about mowing it three times and needing to rake. I thought to myself "Man, I think if I were in charge of mowing, I would just keep mowing that crap up over and over again until it was gone instead of raking. I hate raking." and then I read your rationalization and laughed like a crazy woman. :) Come on, goats and birds, take care of that grass!! And thanks for reminding me to buy birdseed today.. Good job on the spicy stir fry, I'm too Norwegian for that kind of heat.. Ooh, careful about taunting Jillian!!! :)
