Butterflies everywhere.

Somehow, every time I work out outside, I see butterflies. I'm not sure if it's because I prefer kind of wilderness areas, the time of year it is or what. It doesn't fail though that every time I'm walking/attempting to jog or even biking there's a butterfly.

I think it's a sign.

Or you know, maybe I'm just a little deluded. Anyway, headed to a great park today and did a pretty fast combo of walking with a few spurts of jogging and what had to be a spurt of actually running. No, I don't know exactly how that happened but I somehow got up to 7.13 mph at one point. I'm using MyTracks so it's usually pretty reliable for this kind of stuff.

New sneakers are good but they definitely still need gel inserts if I'm going to try to jog at this weight. As of this morning I am UNDER 250 but I'm still not light by any means and that's a lot of stress on my feet/ankles.

Heading to a friend's tonight and then a winefest tomorrow so we'll see how things go. I'm already planning on bringing a ridiculous assortment of vegetables and fruit with me so I don't make some drunken decision to have a big greasy order of fries. I'm stocked up on that stuff as I did my Saturday morning trek to the farmer's market.

Oh, which reminds me. I have a great bunch of fresh basil. Trying to figure out just what to do with it. Maybe pesto? Although I'm betting at least some of it should go into the sauce I'm going to make this week. (have so many tomatoes I'm going to have to use soon.)

So we'll see. I need to drag myself up and shower though because I really reek.

Affirmations for today:
1) Eventually results come if you stick with it.

2) Small changes add up to big differences.

Sauté some zucchini in a little olive oil. Add chopped fresh basil, salt, pepper. Cover with a lid and reduce heat. Steam zucchini over low heat. When done top with a little Parmesan cheese.
