Good morning. I have to leave for zumba in about 5 minutes, so I don't have much time. I didn't record anything yesterday because my diet was just a disaster. I just made some horrible choices for dinner and after. I made the mistake of walking by the food court at the mall. It was almost 5pm and I was hungry. I saw this place that had "real" food, the kind that I use to cook when I was trying to play the perfect wife and mother... greens, mac n chees, rice, chicken, black eyed peas, cornbread. I stopped and thought about what I was going to have for dinner, and I had no plan. The kids were having pizza, and I knew I would eat some when I went home. So, I said screw it. I got salsburry (can't spell it) steak with mashed potatoes and gravy, and corn, and the most delicious, sweet cornbread muffin ever. Well, I guess the best part is that it didn't taste as good as it looked. It really wasn't like home. It just looked like home. So, I ended up putting salt and pepper on it, and then I didn't even finish because the steak was tough. I did enjoy the cornbread though. Anyway, it's Daddy's birthday and he's pretty bummed out because he can't spend his day with his whole family because of the conflict between me and his wife. I was at the mall yesterday getting his gift. I got a beautiful light blue and white striped shirt and light blue and silver cuff links. Spent about $100. Well, after zumba, I'm going to find a place to get it wrapped, and later I will just go to his house and give it to him. He will LOVE that. I don't care what that witch thinks. Anyway, I gotta go. Ooooh greens and black eyed peas! Chicken and rice! OMG, now I'm starving! LOL! I love sweet cornbread too, with beans (and ya gotta cook 'em with a ham bone) Some things you just have to cook at home, I think, especially Southern food. You have to put the love in it or it just doesn't taste right. I think you did really well-you ate what tasted good to you and just did enough to satisfy your hunger with what didn't taste as good.

yeah, I cook my beans with neck bones or ham hocks. As we black folks say, You gotta put your foot in it! lol Yeah I didn't do too bad. I just could have done better, but I just busted my butt in Zumba, so I'm okay.

Zumba was awesome like it is every Saturday. I love the Saturday instructor. Unfortunately, she's going home to Mexico soon, so I'll only have her till June4 until after the summer. It sucks because the Monday/Wednesday instructor will be taking over her class, and that girl is so boring. She just puts on the same CD every time, and we just do the exact same routines in the same order. I'm going to have to drag myself to the class. It's just going to suck to have to do that three times a week, but I'll do what I have to do. I'm so glad I went by Dad's house to take him his gift. He was very surprised because he knows the last thing I want to do is see his wife, but it wasn't about me. It was about Dad. It really brightened his day, so it brightened mine. I've just had a ton of energy ever since I left zumba. I ran around doing everything and then came home and started making jewelry. I'm finally slowing down now. It's time to relax.
