Cthulhu's Journal, 21 April 2013

My most pressing 1st goal was to get through a week and two weekends with this new regimen, that was needed for me to properly gauge what was reasonably attainable through my end goal date of May 31st. I feel on track with this 9th day turning out as planned.

In a nod to some of Kingeld's wisdom I allowed one day with a 1000kCal deficit instead of the usual 2000kCal deficit. It's a bit scary to take your foot off the gas peddle to do that lest you never get back, but I found it easier than I expected. It's good to have a bit of fun along the way.

Starting in June, assuming I've done what I set out to do, I'll transition to just a 1000kCal deficit a day, with likely one full calorie day per week. Hopefully I'll maintain my muscle, as that is my focus over cardio during this svelte transition time.

As a side note, when you are really cutting your calories, I notice how much less processed foods I eat. More natural foods just tend to be more filling. Many highly processed foods make me hungrier after I've eaten them.

That's a great plan, Cthulhu! You'll see some nice progress, I guarantee it, and it's gonna be a LOT easier. Of course, be a little extra careful to register EVERYTHING as errors in calculating your calories could give you less of a deficit. The damage of miscalculating is a little bigger here than when you go for a 2000 deficit. Still, you're gonna have a deficit (assuming that you don't miscalculate 1000 cals on a daily basis) and you'll see a good chunk of easy weight loss. Keep up the great work - you're showing amazing progress. :)
