Happy Thursday....

So, Tuesday I pulled into work to find a Bloodmobile parked out front. I've been giving blood since I was legal to back in high school, because I'm one of those sadists that enjoys it....well, enjoyed it, up until this last attempt....

I'm a slow bleeder. Always have been. It takes me foreverto fill that little bag....This time took (and this is no exaggeration) 22 minutes and 21 seconds (according to the nurse). She proceeds to take the needle out of my arm and my head starts to swim. Everything goes white around the edges of my vision and eventually all turns white. I told the nurse I wasn't feeling wellk and she immediately tipped my chair back & threw cold compresses on my neck and forehead (which was a blessing because my temperature had spiked). I'd never had that happen before, and it wasn't like I hadn't eaten. In my system at that point I had at least 800 calories. The boyfriend attributed it to the weight loss, that I was heavier when I previously donated....not sure how much of that I believe.

Woke up this morning feeling like utter garbage....had awful dreams when I was able to sleep, was woken around 5 by the cat, then had difficulty going back to sleep because of outside traffic noise. Ended up breaking down completely in front of the boyfriend this morning, who ended up saying if I didn't feel well I should stay home, which opened up a discussion about how we were both raised in the belief that you go to work (or school) unless you're dying, bleeding, throwing up or running a fever. He talked me through why it's okay to have a personal day every so often for sanity's sake, which made me cry more out of his sheer understanding. Since not going in counts as an 'occurrence', I won't be going in tomorrow either, because it'll only count as one occurrence instead of two.

We hung out with some neighbors from down the hall last night. Seem like a nice enough couple. The boy seems completely in awe of my boyfriend as far as his knowledge (and ownership) of various gaming consoles & cars. Hit up a local traditional Chinese place for dinner. Had shrimp with double mushrooms, which was pretty good, light on the sauce, overly packed with snow peas though.

Oh no, that's not good! It is possible that it was because you used to be heavier. Maybe some anemia? Our bodies change without notice a lot when it comes to those sorts of things. Either way, definately take the rest while you can. Hopefully you'll feel better soon.
