Does anyone get intimidated by their goal? I mean, I am 15 lbs away from my goal weight, and I am starting to feel intimidated by it. Am I going to be able to maintain? Will I be happy there? What if???? And then there are the naysayers who are already telling me that if I lose anymore weight I will look sick...or am I turning anorexic...? I know it is because I am actually doing it and they aren't, but I think it is starting to intimidate me. That may be part of my blah feelings too. Someone slap me and tell me to snap out of it. I know I can do this, and I know I want to do it for me. I feel good about my weight loss and how I am looking. I really hope these feelings don't last long.

I'm also 15 pounds away from my goal weight. I just can't get there fast nothing. I worry that its going to take longer to lose the last 15 pounds then it did the first 15. I'm afraid that when I get there I won't be able to maintain it. I guess we have to take it one day at a time and be positive about what we have done and what we are going to do in the future.

Honey, don't worry about what others say. Continue on or stop when you feel confortable with yourself and the weight that you get to. As far as maintaining? I can't say. I have never learned to maintain. All I can suggest is learning everything you need to (via the Atkins site or the book) about Maintenance. This way you can be more prepared in how to handle slight gains, temptations, etc..... But no matter what you do, remember your struggles and don't stop working it for you. Don't ever regain this weight. Don't ever give up.

In his books, Dr. Atkins recommends weighing every day, and that if the time comes where you have gained AND MAINTAINED a 5 pound gain for a week, or if it continues to rise and you realize that you are beginning to spiral out of control, then simply go back to induction for a few days to get rid of those pounds, and then cut back on the total numbers of carbs that you were eating when you gained, by 5 grams, and resume your normal eating routine. That way it never gets out of control again.
