I still don't have internet service, on my home computer, so I'm at the public library; I guess you do what you have to do, to stay connected. That being said, I've managed to dodge some high carb bombs, at work, in the last few days. They always seem to put the tastiest looking stuff around, for everyone to help themselves to, in celebration of birthdays for the month. By reminding myself, that I will be weighing 185 lbs, within the next year, I managed to stay away from chocolate turtle brownies, doughnuts, and doughnut holes, and a delicious assortment of cookies; in the last few days. I also decided to avoid a trip to Costco, and a belly full of high carb snacks, today. There are so many, and I'll call them carb-mines, since the effect is to blow us up, weight wise, that if we aren't mindfull, can easily sabotage our efforts to get back, and stay on the right track, with our eating. So, I'm thankful for my recent victories, and will stay vigilant, for future ones to come. I hope everyone is having a great weekend. :-)

Carb mines is a good word for it. Congrats for staying away. Nice to hear from you especially with your limited internet access.

I third the choice of words...carb mines is an excellent term! Teacher lounges are nothing more than one big carb mine....as a principal I didn't go to the teachers' lounge much because I felt my teachers needed a place to vent without my presence and secondly, there were always treats to capture my sweet tooth. Proud of you for dodging the mines this last week....185 looks a lot better than any old carb ever will. Have a great weekend.

Thanks ladies, and these goodies were actually in the school office, in a workroom, just beyond parent, and student eyesight; last month it was packzis, which I'm sorry to say, I didn't avoid. But that was then, and this is now; thank God for the strength to say, "NO, not this time". Kinda makes me wonder, why don't they ever bring in some BBQ ribs, minus the sauce of course; now that would be a treat. LOL My sister said the samples, at Costco, were low carb: bacon, smoked sausage, and nuts, along with a few other things, but not that many; however, I'm still glad I didn't go. Thanks for the pat on the back ladies; keep the good vibes coming. :-)
