117 days till Disney!

Let's title this one:

Positive Proof that my Husband's Good Intentions Usually Cause me Great Pain

Steve tries. Sometimes. But yesterday I was quite proud of myself. I had done some pretty intensive interval training at work for 10 minutes, then powerwalked around Walmart total walking time about 15 minutes, then while I was waiting for the drugstore to open to buy Steve a Sony Walkman mp3 player (so that he'll quit stealing my iPod) I powerwalked around the mall complex parking lot for another 10 minutes. With the crappy shape my knees and ankles are in this is rather a lot for me at once.

So I get home from the shopping, and discover that his 1985 Firebird is 3/4 of the way down the driveway. This would not be a problem except that it hasn't been driven in 3 years and wouldn't start!!!!!! Now keep in mind that this is a car made when cars were made of steel, not fiberglass. It weighs a ton (probably literally!) Now also keep in mind that our driveway has a fair amount of slope, and it is an uneven slope.

He said that he had moved the car to try and scoot it over as we couldn't get our new bikes past it into the back yard. This is a very thoughtful idea!!! It became immediately less thoughtful when he realized that it wouldn't start. It was severely reduced in thoughtfulness when he pushed it down the driveway knowing that it wouldn't start. And it lost ALL THOUGHTFULNESS when I get home and have to help push the (*&$@#^$*&$^#&^#!@ thing back UP the driveway!!!!!

It took quite literally 15 minutes of solid pushing/pulling/rocking the #*$&(# car to get it back where it began (though slightly over to one side). Steve even had to lift the front of the car right up to turn the wheels enough to angle it (front wheel drive - car backed in to driveway).

So to sum it up:

Screaming arms, legs, back for boy (and Sony Walkman with case) $136

Cramping hands, chest pains, and pulled back muscles for girl (and new frying pan) $10

Impending divorce from complete overestimation of his strength and proceeding with a really stupid plan - PRICELESS (actually COSTLY!!!!)

Arghhh.....

But he loved his mp3 player!! :D

Just think of that fantastic workout you got though... albeit I'm sure you would have preferred to have been doing something a little bit less strenuous than pushing cars up slopes!!! Glad you managed to get it back to where it was meant to be though... I think you now deserve a nice pressie in return for your help! ;o)
