196.8 today! My Chinese buffet wasn't detrimental to my efforts at all. I tried to be good. I allowed myself to indulge in some favorites, but kept portions small on those items. Should be smooth sailing in the diet department until the weekend when I have to take my daughter on a weekend trip for a ball game she's participating in. Lots of eating out ahead of us for the weekend.

Fasting blood sugar was the highest yet this morning. Still in the prediabetes range, but it was very close to being past it this morning. I didn't work out on the weekend...wondering if there is correlation between my not working out those days and my higher fasting sugar readings. Last night my reading after my snack was fine. In fact, I know I've said this before but all my readings during the day before and after meals are in the normal range except that first morning "fasting" reading. I have lost probably 13 lbs since the day the doctor told me about my prediabetes and set me back on a healthier path of eating and exercise. I'm curious to see if the morning readings will improve as my weight goes down. I still carry most of my fat in my midsection, and have to find a way to impact that.

Today I have house cleaning to do, and should be home most of the day, save for a short trip to the market this morning. Oatmeal w/apple and cinnamon for breakfast, sandwich and fruit for lunch, tilapia and sweet potato for dinner.

Good job on the Cinese buffet, I'm betting that those readings will all improve soon. Great effort onmyway, have a good one.

Awesome job on the buffet! Probably did better than I, lol! It's always so hard for me there. From old habits, I remember everything tasting so good plate after plate (old me), and now trying to go in with my "game face" on and keeping it on, lol, still a tough one in my book. Maybe that will be how I will know when I've finally made the "complete lifestyle change", when I can walk into a chinese buffet, and not feel like I'm missing out on something,LOL! Sounds like you did GREAT though, keep up the good work. Your inspiring me to get under 200! :)

Thanks, buddies. Today was a wicked day...hours of power outage! Messed up most of my afternoon/evening, but luckily I managed to get some food prepared just before all went dark. I have stayed on track today...although I haven't had a chance to get to my spreadsheet again to verify the exact number. I think I might actually be under my planned calories today.
