OK. Let's try this again. I seem to have greater motivation now to do this. My left hip is sore from time to time and the bout of gout that I had over Christmas has settled so I have done something right. I have changed my diet 85% since Dec 27. Almost no red meet, no fries, no junk food, no snacks, very little diet or other pop, very little beer, (a bit of scotch and wine, tho...)

My mood is better, my mental alertness seems to be improving. And while I didn't weigh in until Jan 4, so I don't know exactly how heavy I was in December, I lost 10 lbs in 17 days!!! I managed to kick start the weight loss in a big way!!

I am under 320 now and on my way to 316 which is where I was when I re-re-re-started some concern about my health back in 2010. So that is the first milestone.

Here are the others: 300 (because that's a round number); 287 (because that's where I was for a long time), and was my recent LOW weight... 275 because that is another good number ... that's it for now as far as goals go ... Ultimately I was 250 12 yrs ago when my daughter was born and 200 20 yrs ago.

the brutal thing about all this is: I KNOW what to do and I have KNOWN what to do for a long time. I JUST DIDN'T do it............

Ultimately my goal of 216 is simple - it puts me below a BMI of 30!!!
