Day 3 and still following SBD 100%. The scale said 169 this morning!!! If this is true, I've lost 6 lbs in 3 days. Some people say it is not a good idea to weigh yourself everyday, some say it doesn't matter. I'm just very curious the minute I get out of bed!!!

Well, I must walk Lacey! Have a wonderful Memorial Day!

Keep up the good work! You're doing great! It seems the initial big drop is normal.

Hi Emily, You are doing great! Hang in there for the entire Phase 1. I was on a roll and finshed week one doing pretty well, but yesterday I had a party (had to eat cake---yeah, I know...). I gained about 2 and half pounds back in one day! I have done S.B. before and lost a few pounds, kept them off for a couple of years but recently put on more. (Last time I lost about 8 pounds in 2 weeks but put on a pound or so after ending phase 1. This time I am struggling big time.) I just wanted to encourage you to finish the Phase 1 if you can before you add back the carbs. That's how I was successful the first time---and blew it this time! Just a tip. You may not have the same experience at all, but I thought I would pass this on, as I seem to learn the hard way and want to help a fellow SB traveler. ---Gabbi

Good going Emily! It's a real boost to the determination to see good results like that. It's pretty typical to have a large loss the first week...in week two it probably won't be quite as much. Once you go into phase two it should level out a bit...best loss is 1-2 lbs a week once you enter phase 2. I agree with Gabbi that it is important to finish out phase 1...cravings will diminish more and more as you continue phase 1.

Great going! Your weight loss is fantastic, but keep it up, and you will reach goal without any trouble.

Phase 1 says you can lose 8-13 pounds in the first two weeks, I lost 12 or 13 I cant remember now. You will do great also! Stay true as I already told you and others are too...it will set you up for a successful weight loss and will take away those cravings. When do crave something, try to find SB approved ways to satisfy that craving. It works really. Whatever your craving, post here and people will suggest recipes that will help. There's ALWAYS something. ALSO...I think when you're losing weight and learning how different foods effect your body, that you SHOULD weigh daily. Only weigh in here once a week or as you feel the need, but WATCH your weight daily. Its the only way to know how certain foods are effecting you. You will see a pound or two up one day then gone the next and even more the next day! In one week you might gain 3 pounds but over all be down 4 for the week. But when you see those ups, you can catch it IMMEDIATELY and take action before being discouraged with a big gain if you weigh only weekly. Its important to pay attention to what foods cause those one pound gains and get the out of your diet before they have too much effect on you. I learned MANY do's and don't s this way. I learned even foods like pickles will effect my weigh ins. (too much sodium for me). Anyway, you're doing FANTASTIC...keep up the brilliant work!
