Okay! 2 days into Atkins! Down 3.06 lbs! I know I shouldn't weight myself, but I want to cheat like every minute of the day! I need SOME motivation!

Started Last Tuesday - January 15th. at 220.6lbs.

Eating a max of 1130 calories a day.

I've been going to the gym every night, doing cardio for at least 27 mins. ( The goal is 30 mins, but I just get sooo tired!)

Weighed myself this morning and I'm at 217.4! It's probably nothing do do with the diet, but it still feels good! I checked with the Ketostix and i am officially in ketosis! Only symptoms are intense fatigue, and mild headache by mid day.

Since I forgot to weigh in on Tuesday, my graph will be messed up! So I'm going to use day 3 weigh in for start weight.
217.4 lb Lost so far: 2.6 lb.    Still to go: 77.4 lb.    Diet followed 100%.

Ketosis sticks aren't recommended anymore. They are tools for diabetics, not dieters. Showing a color on the sticks doesn't mean that you're doing Atkins correctly OR that you will lose weight. Conversely, NOT showing a color doesn't mean you're not doing Atkins correctly or won't lose weight. They are good for practicing aim, though! lol Also, if you want to do Atkins correctly and have lifetime success, then you need to follow the calorie rules. Women must eat at least 1500-1800 calories per day. Am I reading your diet calendar right? Rye bread?

Really? Man! I've been in "ketosis" based on the sticks for the past week and I felt super proud! There's eight bucks down the drain... What's wrong with them though? Is it all gibberish? Does it not actually indicate ketosis? And yeah, I'm pretty much following the Induction plan from the book: Atkins for Life: The Complete Controlled Carb Program for Permanent Weight Loss. (I say pretty much, because all the meals are different everyday, and that is 1. not cost effective - I can't buy lobster for a single lunch salad, 2. Some of the food is too complicated for my skills and 3. I just don't like the options for the day.) So I've selected the lunches and suppers I like and I just rotate them from day to day. But I stay at Induction levels. The book in question does not mention calories, I'm just following the portions they recommend. (Actually I'm no longer eating the snacks or the deserts) Are you sure I HAVE to go to 1500 calories? I seem to be losing about 1 lbs per day so far... (YAY! It gives me the strength to keep on ignoring the siren call of my vanilla dip donuts!)I plan on staying on Induction until I hit 190 lbs. Then gradually go up 5 grams of calories a week?
