No workouts for the weekend, but my eating wasn't terrible. Saturday I was just lazy, then Sunday (and today too) my joints were killing me. It's hard to get motivated to workout when I don't even want to walk. Tonight my daughter and I are going to do our yoga though, so I'm hoping that helps me stretch out and feel a little better. Darn this cold weather! Once the temps are more consistent my joints should get a little better.
My hubby has been wanting to have 2 servings of veggies with our dinner, so that's been good, even if it's corn and another veggie at least it's not as bad as what he normally wants (mac'n'cheese, or mashed potatoes). The kids haven't said anything yet, I think they're okay because we've added fruit too. I hope we can keep this going.

Great plan! Trying to rework my kids eating too. Sides of fruit in the morning with a smaller serving of the cereal they always want (although we don't do sugar cereals so that's good!), adding veggies at lunch even if it's just 3 baby carrots. Figure it all adds up. Limiting the carb snacks a bit better and making snack mixes to get more variety at least. Shopping for mix today or tomorrow!

What kind of snack mixes do you do? That's a great idea!

Kids pick a bout 5 things, we dump them in and mix them up. Chex, cherrios (whatever low sugar whole grain type cereal), raisin, dried cranberries or whatever dried fruit, peanuts, cashews (they are about the only nuts they like), pumpkin seeds, pretzels, roasted edemame that I buy in the organic section... things that last stored and are realatively healthy. For a treat I mix in idividually now and then a bit of choc chip, mini mashmellows, gummy bears. But again that's a treat. My kids love plain popcorn mixed in too but it doesn't hold up too well. Maybe for a day. It is carbs but not some processed cheese cracker *(although we have reduced fat cheez its too lol). I have 1 cup bowls and they get that amount (a bit less for my little one) unless it has popcorn of course and then that much plus a cup or so of popcorn. They pick so tentd to have more interest in eating it. Make a bowl up each week or so.

I'll have to try that. My daughter would definitely eat that, I'm not sure about my son, but it would be good to have some variety. They eat yogurt, graham crackers, or granola bars now, so this would be a nice change.
