GlennM's Journal, 30 June 2010

Doing well. I got nonsense news today, it will prevent me from moving somewhere warmer to help my arthritis. It wasn't unexpected, but I am moving to Spain or Australia probably or another country as soon as I am lucratively published. I am fed up with the way things are here regarding me - it's too long to go into, and American women want a man with money so the dating sites are a joke. Anyway, I needed to vent - and know now I don't belong here in this country. This week I will start the process to get my writing work out and get myself in gear to move overseas. I'm glad at least today now I know what I need to do and that is a step in the right direction... Dieting going well...
Calorie intake Tuesday June 29, 2010: 1930.
Vocabulary word of the day for Wednesday: bonhomie -verb- good-natured friendliness. -------------- Origin from the 18th Century from French: literally from bonhomme, which means good fellow.

I'm sorry Glenn to hear that you can't move where you had planned to go. I don't know if moving overseas is easier, but if you don't try you don't know...For sure the first step is to get your books published, after that things will go better I'm sure. Keep going, never give up.

It's OK... things happen for a reason. I am ready to move and will in time. Some people who are quite negative in my life may need to pass on perhaps before I'm successful it seems... their energy toward me is so negative it's like pulling me under water. But I am ready to go overseas now and if I get published and have the money will. An author I am reading now moved to England from the USA. And so in due time I know I will be somewhere else I'm sure... At least I have a goal in mind ahead of me and in time things will happen I'm sure. The dieting went OK today, I've got to limit the wine and beer, which I think I'm doing to escape things. I am not overdrinking though, but a little is a lot of calories. I'll get to everyone's journals tomorrow - maybe late tonight if I stay up...

GlennM, I have a book published and one I pulled from movie manuscript and paid dearly for due to a divorce and pulled the plug from the movie (a world of difference I know you'd understand if we spoke about it)... as I'm sure you know, everything happens for a reason and we have to go where our heart leads us. I would only tell you to not believe it's better anywhere or in any other country as far as getting published or reaching your audience. I lived in many of them, speak a few different languages. My book is distributed in several other countries though it had nothing to do with where I lived. It had to do with who I touched. You can touch lives and have an affect on anyone, anywhere. Just keep speaking from your heart. You can live your dream, no matter "where" you live! ;-)

And sorry GlennM, grouping American women is like trying to catch a minnow in your teeth. Most grown up American women who are looking...are looking for a man who can simply make them feel mutual love and respect. Te date sites, who knows...but don't judge American women based on internet date sites, please? Good night pal.

I'm Luuvd - I am single at 48 so things are all financial at this stage of life. It isn't like when people meet in college anymore. I've contacted lots of women and only rude ones basically contact me back. A few examples - one who viewed my profile denied she did when I messaged her and it was a new rude type of come-on in her opinion, another was very nasty and racist because I dated Asian women in my past. Nothing good yet, it may take time. I am staying in the USA until I am published, then I am leaving. I lived overseas and am ready to go again. I have two books completely done. I am going to work hard to get more done in the next six months. Other things are going on I can't discuss, but 95% of my male neighbors who are low income have no girlfriend either, I live with about 100 guys and 100 women in a large building. Many women are looking for love and respect and someone who can pay half their bills too and I can't do that right now... just some thoughts there...

GlennM, I do understand what you're saying. I'm sorry to hear about your circumstances. I'm 45 and I was single for about 7 years before finding my hubby. I had a teen son so I wanted to get him through school too before I introduced another person into that mix! lol I thought it would never happen but it finally did. We met playing poker online if you can believe that! We lived a few states apart and had a long distance relationship for a while. We were actually poker playing pals, before we even knew the other was single or each others age range. You never know where you'll meet them! You're right about finances. I don't think it's that women are looking for a sugar daddy (of course there are always those few who are), but being able to pay bills certainly helps when dating and trying to find someone. Hopefully when the time is right you will find someone that just get's you. Keep me updated with the publishing. Best wishes to you. I think writing and publishing is always such an exciting process.

GlennM... I totally understand what you are saying about the relationship thing... And I do not think that those people in your building are single becuase they can't find anybody. THere are different reasons a person is single... Some are single becuase they choose to be, others are single becuase they do not want a relationship right now... But maybe you should try to get out more... Maybe go to local events to meet single people... Put yourself out there more.... The Internet is not always the best way to meet someone although there have been good results (for examply ImLuuvd).

Thanks I'm Luuvd and Beautiful 95828 for the advice. Anyway, I have been going barhopping. It is dead right now as the college girls are out of town now. I keep getting told I look younger than 48 so may lie if I have to for some fun. Amy1flite, I have completed two historical fiction novels - one is set in New England in the 1600s and early 1700s and is 600 pages long, the other is 300 pages and set a bit earlier in Canada and the wilderness of what is now New York and Vermont. Then I have a cross country western that needs a rewrite done, it is historically inacurrate in parts. I have a long short story book of science fiction/fantasy stories, I'm on the eighth now and plan to do a few more then type that in a computer. Then there's a science ficiton/fantasy novel mostly set in Ancient Greece that is maybe 1/3 to 1/4 done, then another fantasy novel started that I will go to and finish in a trilogy I believe. And so that is what is done so far... Thanks for asking. I hope to have a publishing deal soon! :)
