Hi All.. A little note about yesterday.. I don't know what overcame me yesterday. I was so hungry - Every time I ate, I tried to consume mostly veggies. Last night I was so overcome with hunger.. I had reached my limit of 19 carbs.. I couldn't resist, drank some water - that didn't work.... I made a salad at 8:30pm and that is what took me over the carb count.
Was able to get to the store today.. So I am didn't eat much this morning. Just ate a salad, now I am going to prepare dinner. I'm going to make chili.. NOt sure if it will beef or chicken. I do know this much - I can't wait to eat!! lol lol ;)


194.4 lb Lost so far: 11.0 lb.    Still to go: 39.4 lb.    Diet followed 100%.

If you're on Atkins and you're starving, go for some cheddar cheese, meat of any type, an omelet... if you're hungry EAT! Atkins is not a starving diet.

Echoing Karen, I keep chicken breasts, bacon, etc. on hand, precooked for those "hungry days".

Dorothy, I, too, get that way when I'm running out of food at the end/first of the month. The less food I have, the more I want. Then I go and buy groceries and I'm not even hungry anymore.. lol. Hope you had fun shopping today! Tomorrow is my day to shop :D

I try to keep one pack of hamburger and one package of chicken in the freezer for the end of the month. Being able to snack on cheese or meats when I'm the most hungry has saved me more than once. Like Angie said, I think it's more of a mental thing. When I don't have it I want it more. Then when I have it I'm not so hungry.

Ahhww guys thanks for the words of wisdom and support.. I was really worried about myself there.... Lowcarbkaren..I am definitely not trying to starve. That is the last thing I want to do. Starving won't do anything but make me stall, right? and I didn't think about eating an omelette - good idea ;) Thank you. My meat ration was low yesterday so my only option was to eat a salad...so if I ever feel that way again I know to grab some meat ;) omelette.. I need to keep pork rinds on hand too Rachel & Angie you are so right - it may have been a mental thing. I kept telling myself I just ate why am I hungry - then my stomach started to growl and I couldn't take it anymore lol lol..

Dorothy... I'm glad you weren't trying not to eat am that you were able to stock up. My house is a little like a bomb shelter so I have tons of food in freezer and there wouldn't be a chance in h--- i couldn't find something to eat. I just love to grocery shop!

That's a good idea, Rachel! And the omelette is also a good idea! I try not to get too low on food before I can go shopping again, but November was crazy due to buying food for Thanksgiving. I ran out of money and still had lots of month left.. lol

yeah Karen.. Normally I have plenty of food.. I have a deep freezer that is always stocked.. With the Thanksgiving holiday and my grown a#$ kids came over and cleaned me out!! lol lol.. Today I just went and got enough for a few days. Took the twins with me and I just couldn't do it! I will do the lowdown when the kids (4yr olds) are at school.. I can't take them to store with me - I have to focus on them instead of what I'm in the store for... lol lol I love to grocery shop too! My favorite pasttime ;)

Angie.. I couldn't agree with you more!! I did the same thing with the buying of the thanksgiving food and like I said those big grown kids kept coming by going in my deep freezer.. Rachel I like your idea about having a stash in the freezer.. I'm going to have to do that. put the food between some kiddie meals or popsicles lol lol lol

Dorothy I also try to keep pork skins on hand, and I am trying to keep some boiled eggs (if I don't want boiled I cut it and make a deviled egg with zero carb may that bumps up my fat). Weiners are another good one to keep (but I think they will still carry at least 1 carb). Bacon is a staple too and I put it on a foil lined pan and pop it in the oven...it cooks really fast without the mess. I think you are doing great just hang in there!

Great job on the loss! I could not agree more with echoing frig when you're rounding the bend before shopping. LOL Since starting this challenge I added Boar's Head turkey pepperoni and cheese sticks to frig. When I need a snack, I'll pick up a cheese stick and a few pieces of pepperoni. Now all this talk about an omelette is making me hungry. SMILE
