~MH and the Home HealthCare Breakup~
MH still in ICU and worse - it's so difficult to watch him suffer but I am selfish and don't want to let him go yet. However I don't want my selfishness to keep him ... Oh, what am I saying - I do not have the power over his mortality and must accept whatever happens does so for a reason.
Let's move on to a (lighter) topic. His primary physician has changed Home Health Care providers once again and plans to have a new HHC come when (if) he returns home from the hospital.
This is the third time this year and while I do know it is his right to stay with whichever HHC he prefers we are reticent to go against his physicians orders.
However, I am not sure if the PP's nurse slow played me and did NOT inform the HHC of that decision as was her responsibility or if the HHC representative phoned me this morning in attempt to make me change our minds despite the PP's directive.
End result was I felt like I was 'breaking up' with the current HHC represenative. I heard myself saying things like 'It's not you, it's that Dr. So & So, I think you're wonderful, we really like you, please understand it isn't personal.'
And when she played the 'Patient's Right' card I had to remind her that it was the PP's directive to change HHC's earlier this year that led to 'them' replacing the previous HHC.
It was just odd. In my previous 'corporate world life' I did have to 'make employees available to the industry' from time to time and listen as they plead their case. I just haven't had to do that in several years so I was having to dig back into my memory bank of consoling responses to pull out all the 'appropriate phrases'.
I couldn't believe the guilt I was feeling when the call ended ~ as if I needed to send them flowers or something. I spoke with his primary nurse this morning and thanked her for everything she did and asked her to come visit me (I am going to go get her a gift).
So the topic took a down turn too. Darn. Sorry.
