I started my diet on October 15, 2012 weighing 200lbs, as of October 31 2012 my weight is now 194lbs. I use a smaller plate which gives me smaller portions. I still eat what I want but smaller portions also eat fresh fruits or can fruits with no sugar. I do not eat white rice or bread. I eat as much veggies as I want. I walk and/or run on my treadmill 3 days a week for 30 to 45 min. Doing everything listed I lost 6lbs in 2 weeks 3 days. I feel wonderful. My goal is to return to 150lbs. My height is 5'7 Always consult your doctor.
194.0 lb Lost so far: 0 lb.    Still to go: 44.0 lb.    Diet followed reasonably well.

Congratulation! The smaller plate thing - isn't that amazing how that works? I think it's crazy how the food and the plates got so much larger over the years ~ and we feel the need to FILL every inch of the plate with food. When I started my weight loss it began with oatmeal in the morning and I would look at ONE serving, (1/2 cup) and think 'NO WAY that's ENOUGH' but the past two weeks I've gone to a smaller bowl and now I'm thinking 'oh, that's too much'. I'd started using smaller plates too. The smallest changes can have the biggest yet most transparent effects, hmm?
