I'm sincerely tired of this fight. Whether I eat cake, or steamed brocolli, I stay right about the same weight. Yesterday was a brocolli, spinach and salmon day, and I still gained about a pound and a half since I weighed myself two days before. Maybe this is my body's natural weight; it is what I stayed at all through high school when I was a ton more active and athletic. Or maybe I'm just throwing in the towel...
165.0 lb Lost so far: 52.0 lb.    Still to go: 5.0 lb.    Diet followed reasonably well.
gaining 2.6 lb a week

Once you get to one of your bodys "set points" (where you were at for and extended period of time) it gets difficult to break thru it. It can be done...takes time...or you can just be happy where you are and maintain. Either way, you have done GREAT to get to this point, dont forget that ! :)

Maybe you're right, maybe it is your natural weight. But you shouldn't give up and be discouraged. It might be that the South Beach isn't the diet for you, not all diets work for everyone, we're all different and our bodies process things in different ways. Have you read through You on a Diet? I learned a lot from that and it really kick started me loosing weight, due to my size I've decided to go drastic and go on the MediFast diet since it's specially formulated for the really obese. But you need to evaluate yourself based on yourself, not on other peoples ideas. Are you healthy? Do you feel good? Do you have energy and are comfortable with yourself? As long as your weight is not reducing your health level maybe that is the weight your body is comfortable at. Just don't give up, giving up like that will usually result in MORE weight gain, explore some other alternatives. Good luck Tami, remember your family loves you, so love yourself as well.

there is nothing too intelligent i could add to whats been said already, but giving up isn't the option here! you have done so good and everyone in this battle feels your pain. But throwing in the towel sounds like weight gain in the end and then you'd be so upset how you worked so hard to get here, and for what? So don't give up!!! find a happy medium, a way of maintaining at least :) you'll be so glad you did!

Your not alone in the fight. We all feel this way at some point (or alot) but we have to continue. You have done wonderful and even if you don't lose anymore, you need to continue to eat healthy so you can maintain. Hang in there!
