I eat a lot of nuts. With salt. I am sure that this is part of the problem with my inability to lose a consistant amount of weight. This is such a slow process sometimes I get discouraged. I have noticed a bit of a gain on my scale and this is probably water retention from all the salt. I really need to plan my food better instead of getting too hungry and eating snacky foods. All the foods I eat are approved, but I need to limit the sodium, and drink more water. Processed foods in general are garbage. When I am in a hurry it seems okay to eat the hickory salted almonds, or peanuts, or pepperettes. But truthfully it is killing my diet.

More planning+less junk= WEIGHT LOSS!!!!
THis is my new moto!! Words to live by for the rest of my life.

I had a similar problem...salt addict over here. I have a problem with portion control and nuts...I started buying unsalted and portioning them in snack size baggies. I had to stop eating them completely because they ...ahhem...cause major blockage. Do you struggle with that too?

Salts tend to be highly caloric too. No matter what diet you are on, if you take in more calories than your burn off, you may gain or stay the same. If you don't already, measure out how much you are eating and limit yourself to a certain amount each day.

You don't have to give up nuts, they are full with healthy fats that make us full. Try eating raw almonds, they are tasty. I eat them everyday 6 to 8 pieces as a snack. I know it's not a lot but just having something crunchy helps with sticking to a diet.

Thanks for all the helpfull suggestions. I think I will cut the nuts all together. I just finished them off this morning for breakfast, so I won't buy anymore. I don't find that they cause blockage Lindsay6384, but one of the medications I use does, so it might be that I just don't know the difference.
