What??? 4 lbs in ONE day??? I have heard of 1 lb or so fluctuation......but this is crazy! right? I am doing SBD Phase 2 and have not strayed even a little.

I work out 5 days per week and usually 6. I began SBD on June 18th weighing 207. Friday I weighed 183 and Saturday I weighed 187!!! I actually ate less than usual Friday due to time constraints...and same thing Saturday.

I am depressed! I weighed on my MIL's digital scale not the scale at the gym....they always show a difference...but 4! lbs! I am shocked. Has anyone ever had this happen when you have followed plan? I know about scale fluctuations, fluid retention, glycogen usage/storage yada yada, but really.......

My weigh in is tomorrow and I am NOT doing it!!LOLOL I have not had any gain whatsover but it has only been 8 weeks...steady loss each week. If anyone can help me feel better, please do!LOL I really am ready to cry :o)I work out so hard that I feel cheated LOL I am 50 years old and only 5'4, so I am shooting for a target weight of 116 to start, and then somewhere between 106-112. Long way to go and don't want to have upsets like this one. How do I avoid it...other than not stepping on that evil scale? I know I could never stop myself.....easier to sit with cookies and ice cream staring at me...honestly:)

Thanks for bearing with this pity party!!LOL

Well, you know. . . .that amount of fluctation is normal. Four pounds is about 2.2% of your total current weight. That said, I think you will be happier if you focus less on the weight and more on your behavior. It is great that you have stuck with phase two so well. Focus on the making every day a success with sticking with your diet and exercise goals! The results will come of their own accord.

Teddy, Wow...could it really be normal? I have read about 1 even 2 lbs...but never thought 4 could be possible LOL. I have no choice but to deal with it, and I will not go off plan...I need to make sure that I DO eat and not make it worse....I am having trouble even bringing a bite of food to my mouth right now LOL Thank you for the encouragement! I hope it won't hurt to avoid my weigh in for a few days just to avoid the slump it will put me in :o) Thans again so much! Sherri

It's probably just water weight and a difference in the scales. Weigh on your normal scale and I bet it will be a much better number.

Yes I have had this happen! I know its Water weight if my wedding ring is tight or its the different scales. There are two scales in my house same brand and everything but one will weight me in 6-8 pounds heavier! Our scales are on a cement floor but if its even moved an inch I could weigh in 2 pounds heavier!

My weight fluctuates by a couple of pounds every day, and before we got a new scale it was fluctuating by 3 or 4 pounds in a day. Although it's *possible* that you actually gained that weight, it's most likely that the difference in scales and maybe the time of day is what causes the dramatic change. I know it's aggravating, but try not to worry about it too much if you can. I agree with the others that it's important to just keep with your diet and exercise routine and weigh in on your normal scale at your normal time of day.
