What's this position supposed to help? I'm curious. I've been paying attention to your exercise pics to get ideas on what I can do once it cools down a little bit, but I can't figure out what this one will do.

Oh, ok, that's a more detailed view of the plank you had included in the other abdomen routine (for the pooch). Gotcha. Thanks again!

Also, I think the top wrong position (U-shaped back) is worse than the bottom wrong position (upside-down U) in the picture. The top one can hurt your lower back while the bottom one is just less effective at strengthening the abdominals.

Have you tried the side plank? It is a little harder but builds core strength. Once good at those, then the side plank with leg left hold. I'm getting better with them.

sry leg lift hold not left.

Better off placing elbows further ahead to add weight and then upgrading to weighted crunches and leg lifts. Planks are subpar for developing muscle doing them as pictured. An overrated exercise, honestly. You wouldn't hold a super light dumbbell at a 90-degree angle for minutes to build your biceps. Same idea. Once you can do them for 60-90 seconds there really isn't going to be any additional muscle building magic doing it for longer. Upgrade to pushups instead, it's like doing planks but with more calorie burn and more overall muscle recruitment.
