BuffyBear's Journal, 08 August 2012

I am starting to sound like a broken record - worked late again last night and busy/distracted at home - didn't get back on FS or record food. Something has got to give!

Did have an interesting situation last night. An elderly man had wandered into our back yard, said he was lost, and wanted DH to make some phone calls for him - but couldn't remember the phone numbers. We were unable to find the numbers of any of the people he was asking for. Finally DH asked him where he lived, thinking he'd just give him a ride home but the man couldn't remember his address. At that point I called 911 because I realized he needed more help than we could provide.

Now, I estimate that this "elderly" man was only about 10 years older than me! Is this what I have to look forward to?

So today I am thankful that I am not (yet) wandering around in my neighbors back yards lost.

We have to be so grateful for our health that is a for sure thing, that is why it is so important for us to journal and enter our food, keeps us on track, but I think the food we put in our mouth is very important to our brain health as well, so glad you could help this poor man how sad.

Oh, how sad, and how wonderful that you took the time to help him. Bless his heart. I still need to enter my food from yesterday as well. Hope today is better for you! :)

Oh poor thing. How awful for him. We all are in different degrees of forgetfulness. I forget things all the time and worry if I am losing it completely. LOL! *laughing on the outside, crying on the inside* ;) Glad you got the man all sorted out. Bless him.

Mom2B - Was nice to know that DH has a lot more patience than I give him credit for!

It is scary to think about. But regular exercise and a healthy diet are some of the best things you can do to prevent, or at least delay cognitive decline. So being here, and taking care of yourself is helping you keep your mental sharpness.

Hope - That is very sad - especially when you remember her so differently. Take care.

yduj57 - That is exactly what I thought - if this doesn't motivate me I don't know what will! Thanks again.
