Day 2 of a planned 5 day fast

Did well yesterday on the fast. Only drank protein powder, tea, and water. Ran 5 miles and lifted weights. I felt great all day, and I feel great this morning :) I also drank a LOT of water and took my Hi-Lyte electrolyte concentrate.

Still, I gained a pound today :) I think my body is spending its energy 'rearranging' things, because even though I have lost 34 pounds since January, and I am almost 50 years old, my skin does not hang on me (except my belly, but it is the last place I have any noticeable fat on me).

I am posting my latest picture because even though I am the same weight in the last two pictures, I feel my body is 'tighter'.

Ironically I FEEL better when fasting. 'Emptiness' feels better than 'full' to me because 'emptiness' lasts as long as you want it to whereas 'full' will always go away and you have to 'reload' to bring it back, but, then I feel I am 'chasing fullness' like a drug.

@adef, I remember you saying on your bio that you like Starbucks mocha coffee. Well, today I mixed my cooled down chocolate pinon coffee with Premier Protein shake vanilla flavor and it was delicious! I am not really a big coffee drinker , but need something to get me going some mornings. My husband, who only drinks black coffee even liked it. Just a thought, because it's low in carbs, but high in protein and oh so yummy. 😋

Oh, and they also make different flavors, like chocolate for mocha. Wait, aren't you the one that makes your coffee ahead of time for you and your wife for the entire week? If yes, then ignore this post. The protein powder is really good though. Recommended by fellow FS members. Okay, I am really over and out this time.😊

@Becc@ - I have been putting Quest Vanilla Milkshake Protein Powder in my coffee for a week now. Yes! Yum!

Great job!! “Chasing fullness like a drug” is a great description for how I viewed food before losing weight. It is a comforting feeling to be full. I need to fast longer and see if I enjoy the empty feeling as much as you do🙂

@momma6224 - For me it took time. AFTER probably my 4th extended fast, when I was 'eating' I then felt the 'always chasing feeling full' feeling. So ironically I most appreciate the freedom of 'emptiness' when I am full. I also can feel and appreciate the feeling of 'emptiness' during exercise.
