Got on the bike again and rode 15 miles, so I made my goal at least once of riding twice a week. I know that I've definitely lost 5 pounds since starting the diet, and I'm pleased with that, but I really want to keep losing. Finally made it to the grocery store today to stock up on ingredients for some of the recommended recipes. Tonight, we had steak and mashed cauliflower, and though meat and "faux"tatoes may seem better for November than the hottest day in August, it still hit the spot.

OH that mashed cauliflower!! When you haven't had the real thing for a while, the substitute can really hit the spot! No matter what the season! Great job in riding 15 miles! my word! I sat on my bike the other week, and it hurt my but too much to even ride it! I need one of those banana seats like when I was a kid! Keep up the good work!

Good riding! It is great to get out on the bike for a workout. I look forward to getting a new bike that I can use around town. You mentioned that you would want to be able to weight train, but it is hard to find time. Do you have weights at home? I only use moderate weights (dumbells between 20 and 30 pounds) and leave them next to my computer so that I can multitask between sets. Lifting at home, only doing a few exercises, and mixing the lifting with other stuff are good ways to lower the time costs of lifting. Anyways-- those types of things might make it a lot easier to reach your twice a week goal. Take care!

Have you tried those streachy resistance bands? I've seen them used and tried them with pilates, they're a really space and cost efficent way to add in some resistance exercise. It's small enough that I can stuff it in my purse and take it with me to work or anywhere I expect to have to wait around a bit. You can get the same kinds of tone-ing exercises done without packing around heavy dumb bells. :)
