Steven Anthony's Journal, 07 June 2018

Day 52 of my 90-day program was just okay. I ate way too many calories, but I did keep my carbs below 20 and my carb % below 5. That's keto for me. I slept really well and woke with lots of energy and a positive attitude. I walked 5 miles and jogged some of it.

I had planned to skip dinner, but when I got off work, I was really hungry. I ate a handful of mozzarella cheese stix and a package of turkey pepperoni. I didn't even look at the carbs and numbers before I ate it. I didn't care and that bothers me. It's like I had a little depression (about work) and I just wanted to eat. Somehow, I was not mentally prepared for that, is there a way to manage such things? Any idea'S?

One thing I've noticed about myself, I don't always have a plan and preparations in place for every situation. My tool box is limited. Today I will pray for people who feel a little blue. May we find the silver lining.

Everyone struggles with emotional eating from time to time, so you're not alone, but your frustration about it also isn't unjustified. In times of stress, I try to keep things close or in mind that I use to calm me down instead of food. So, after time has passed from learning (and sometimes failing) when I feel stressed, I try to reach for things like tea, decaf coffee, or incense. After time you may instinctively go to non-food comfort items when you're stressed. Good luck!

I struggle like this often especially lately. Not sure where my self control has escaped to but it ran away! Haha I’m proud of you for choosing something on plan even without checking the carbs first.

I don't have an answer for it, my little son is a really bad boy, there are days I can't manage anymore my stress levels and all I do is eat, right now, for example 😐
