Installed a new faucet in the bathroom sink Friday. Had to buy a basin wrench at Lowes, set me back $12, nice addition to my toolbox that I doubt I'll ever use again. lol

I believe that is a faucet wrench.

Bingo, basin wrench. $12 at Lowes. Had to have it to replace the bathroom sink faucet. After about an hour, a few paragraphs of swear words, and a lot of sweat, I got the old faucet off, what a pinche burro. I'll edit and add the faucet

Isn’t it for garbage disposals when they are jammed. I have had the occasion to use one of those SEVERAL times. Now I just have a Plummer who sits at the end of my street and waits for me to call. He often reminds me that I need to do MY share to help get his kids through college— he has just one left. LOL

Duh-I should have paid more attention to the pic. Good job.

Kenna Morton In our house we use a one inch diameter 20 inch long wooden dowel for unjamming the garbage disposal. A couple bucks at the hardware store (or craft store) and you don't have to pay the plumber. Save the money to send your own kids (or mine?) to college.

Basin wrench - handy for lending to neighbors! I remember quite a sense of accomplishment after wielding mine to replace my kitchen faucet and saving the cost of a plumber.

Here's the kicker, the water supply loosened to the right instead of the left which just added to the fun and excitement! Righty-Tighty Lefty-Loosey was out the window. lol

I bought one of those. I’ve used it twice now in the past 18 years or so. Lol

they're good to own and they make great heirlooms so keep the instructions for your great-grandkids. i've used mine 3x in the last 30 years; however, i'm glad i have it 'cause i don't borrow (nor lend) my tools or girlfriends.

Wife said she wants the kitchen sink and bathtub faucets replaced, too, so I'm not ready to retire it's jersey just yet. The bathtub will be easy peasy, probably won't even need the basin wrench because of the way it's installed, but the kitchen sink needs work. The hole in the counter was cut too big when it was first installed years and years ago and it wobbles, so we're trying to decide what the best way to replace it will be. I don't want to have to fool with the sewer side, but dropping a new counter top over the existing one and dropping the sink into the proper sized hole seems to be the best option.

I’m not sure 🤔 but is that basin wrench a little flat screw driver thing that goes down the drain to tighten the seal? I have 3 or 4 of those that came with Delta faucet and Delta shower head assemblies. I bought out Lowes Pex for crimp tools but get my valves and fixtures from Long Barn, b/c SharkBite and Lowes Pella? are $$$. I save everything. Just-in-case comes up all the time in this old farmhouse.

I saw a video on it. I was thinking the drain screw. But Delta comes with both that 8” plastic wrench for faucet pipe nuts and the tub 🛀 assemblies cane with the drain screw. Ok. Gotta have the right tools, makes all the difference. My dad (RIP) fabricated all kinds of stuff to get the job done.

Thanks for posting. My faucet is loose and I had no idea how to tighten it besides getting angry at it and giving up. I will give one of these a try.

You can reach under the sink and tighten the mounting nut. It's a plastic piece that tightens the faucet to the sink, no need to use a basin wrench for that, you can tighten it with your hand. Look up faucet mounting nut to get a better idea.

Has anyone discovered a toilet seat that does not need constant tightening? Please, I’m SICK of wiggly seats.

I bought a Kohler at Lowes when we moved into our current house five years ago, and it's never loose. I take it off every month when I'm giving the bathroom a deep clean and it still doesn't even jiggle.

Oh, see, you take it off and then put it back, tightening. I just spray with Clorox cleanup and wipe it down. I don’t take my seats 🚽 off, but no boys here 🙅‍♂️ Just me and my puppy 🐶 and some chickens 🐔 but they stay outside. I’ll look for Kohler, see if it’s better. Thx!

Have you tried tightening the seat you've got? There's two screws at the back, flip up the screw covers and tighten them from the top. You might need to get a pair of pliers to hold the nuts from the bottom.
