went to a party last night with a taco bar...I was doing good at first. I only ate 1 taco and a serving of mac n cheese. I was still slightly hungry when I finished, so I decided to get another taco. As I was finishing that, my daughter decided she didn't want her food and I felt bad for wasting it...so I ate hers too. I need to stop feeling bad about the food she wastes because I'm gaining weight when I finish her plate.

there's always that guilt attached to throwing food out for some reason. i did the same with my daughter for years..a few chicken nuggets here..a couple of fries..it adds up quick. now I've learned to just throw it out. A taco bar sounds really yummy though..and 1 night isn't going to throw u off course. get back on track and you'll be fine!

Thanks! The taco bar was awesome! I'm getting back on the wagon today. Gotta have a cheat night here and there. And yeah, there is a lot of guilt with throwing food away. Especially when it's good food.

What I do often times with my son is I wait to eat until he is done and end up eating what is left of his food and never end up eating a full plate myself. I find that it keeps me feeding him healthy foods and it keeps me from overeating. Just a trick that a mom told me once, who has 7 children. She only eats what they don't eat and finds that it feels her up and keeps her from over eating. Just a thought, if wasting food bothers you. Keep it up! Falling off the wagon one night is not a stopping point. My husband and I went out for dinner Tuesday night at Ruth's Chris and I ate 2 days worth of calories that day. We never do it, so no guilt here, but I was back on the wagon the next morning. Just keep at it and don't get down on yourself if you slip up. Just keep on going the next day. Those splurges are good for your psyche to some extent.

My toddler is such a germ factory that I tell myself that I am protecting my health by throwing his uneaten food away rather than eating it myself. I also have just started putting very small portions on his plate and then giving him seconds or thirds if he's hungry. That helps cut down on the food waste.

I'm a member of the clean plate club myself but I've been telling myself that the "extra food" that i don't want to waste is going to end up being thrown out regardless. I can either either get rid of it now or get rid of it once it has gone through my body and done its damage.

Be encouraged. Glad U enjoyed yourself. Now just get back on track. If you can take away from the party (like your daughters plate) drop it in the trash as soon as you get home. LOL.

I used to finish my wife's plate - which was me really eating two meals. It is so hard to get past those instilled habits. Thanks for sharing your experience and love of tacos. I hope you have a great weekend on your adventure.
