HOLY COW it was only one Mc Muffin! The effects of inflammatory substance in your food when you are not used to them. It will take a few days to get this all off. I feel lousy.. last night the flatulence was enough to level surrounding buildings...(sorry Kansas last night was probably my fault. My joints ache, fingers swollen. cankles and tight shoes. I knew better. It is the definition of stupid is repeating known errors and expecting different results. I however did and ... decided to ignore the consequence of my actions. I have to stop WHIM EATING.

One egg McMuffin isn’t going to do any harm in the long run. whatever “weight” was gained from that would only be water weight, unless your total calories for that day you had it ended up in an extremely large surplus, you’re ok.

LMBO Rebecca You have me cracking up. You learned your lesson I'm sure!

Although overall the McMuffin won't hurt long term, what a good reminder for why you stopped eating that way consistently! I am amazed looking back at how cruddy I felt for so long; and that way of feeling alone, is enough to keep me from going back to that for more than a small cheat once in the greatest of whiles, at some point, or maybe never. Thanks for sharing your experience, the good, the bad and the ugly, lol!!

Always throw the bread of any kind in the trash where it belongs.

The feeling crappy and weight ate most likely a result of processed meat ad well as the bread and the yucky cheese they use. 🤦🏻‍♀️ But I break down and eat their burritos occasionally too!🤷🏻‍♀️We’re human. LOL There’s a lesson in here somewhere. But mostly that our bodies are crying for healthy food. 🙋🏻

I know for me that my gut issues from fast food originate from the griddle spray that is used - it is common across most restaurants. I have avoided fast food because of this - I can reproduce the same product at home with controlled ingredients and don't have the intestinal distress.

I do love Mac's Southwest grilled chicken salad.

You can try to recreate something similar at home. I make breakfast sandwiches with the almond meal bread recipe and then scramble up an egg or fry one, pan up ham or bacon, then use high quality cheese and mayo. I can’t eat too many chemicals without feeling really awful. I don’t eat any gluten due to severe side effects. I highly recommend completely cutting it out for 45-60 days and see if your inflammation improves.

I have been there before. At least you acknowledge a change. Stay encouraged!

I am afraid of public salads. I usually manage to get a contaminated salad I just don't dare. I seem to get salad sick easily. The Home made ones I can soak my veggies in cold water with 1 cup of vinegar and a Tbs of bleach. I haven't gotten sick since. I grew up partly in Germany and we lived on the economy, all of our veggies were fresh and wonderful but, according to the Lady down stairs, you had to soak them especially since we were not used to the flora in a new country. I suppose she was on a save the ignorant yank mission... still LOVE Frau Heimmer

@rebecca it seems like every spring I start to eat more salads and usually always end up sick, I started reading about contaminated salads, even the bagged stuff is usually gross 🤢 and I would also end up with kidney issues from it. Scary to think something that is supposed to be healthy could actually be making us sick because it’s not properly prepared or packaged

Wow, I so appreciate your post. I'm on a Whole30 and brand new to the concept of Paleo and eating to fight inflammation. Your post is encouragement to me. You can get yourself back on track!
