Hello Y'all,

I ran my first flat today. It was inevitable after so many miles, wasnt it... so i thought i was totally prepared for the misfortune event...

1.a i knew what to do, when it happened.
b i guess i didn't
2.a i took out my toolbox, and dismantled my inner tube, and started looking for a hole
b I did not find one, although i could hear the air run out, so i suspected the three previous repair-stickers.
3.a lucky for me i had a spare-tube so i took out the brand new spare tube and took out my wheel, all happy it was the front wheel, which is easier to take out.
b. besides getting really cold and a creepy guy passing me three times.
4.a the creepy guy turned out to be a nice guy and tried to offer to help me which i politely declined still confident i could do this all by myself!
b.The new tube was a bit different from the previous one, and i had a hard time getting inner and outer tube alined.
5.a i had tested the pump with the valve at home and i was happy i did so i brought the extra extention that fitted with my pump and my valve. yeah!
b and im pumping and im pumping, but no air seemed to enter the tube.
6.a i was very lucky i had brought my phone with battery and with enough credit on it...
b on the phone i admitted defeat to my hubbie and asked for him to pick me up.
7.a bike fitted the car, brand new tube was really broke so i got a free new one at the bikeshop, bought a new spare. in the comfort of my warm home i installed the new innertube to my bike.
b i found a very sharp stone embedded in my outertube responsible for the flat. i found the real hole that i could have fixed in the first place.
a. i did bring my toolbox remember...
b. although i did not check the glue, which was all hard so i could not have fixed it after all.
8.a i was lucky to take out the sharp stone b4 i also punctured the new inner tube...
b no, no bad thing here, pumped up the new tire, happy ending :)

think of me next time you have a flat (*lol*)
maud.

WOW - I am very impressed you had all the stuff for road repair and knew what to do. Fortunately I do not ride too far from home and would either make phone call or wlak it home!

with a range of 100 km i better get ready for events like this; i go further from home every time... lucky i was only 20 km from home which still would have been a 4 hour walk.

sure Deb_N, on my restdays i jump on her and go for long rides in the forest... (if you can call those three trees we have here an actual forest (*lol*)) today restday, tomorrow 100 km cycle with a break of 3 hours inbetween, so i am going for speed, try to keep HR between 150-159 (and hope my speed will be 25km/h). talk to you after that!
