DairyKing's Journal, 18 April 2015

Good Afternoon, FS Warriors! A beautiful Saturday afternoon. Only one word to describe the last week - Busy! I should have come on here and updated my journal, but that seems to be what happens when I don't have any eating habits to bragg about. It could be worse: I'm still down 10 from where I started, but it's a pretty pathetic track record.

Finally got to the truck, and took the bed off. I have a lot of work to do to remove the scaley rust and rebuild all the brakes and lines. Still playing in the nursing homes, leading worship on Sunday mornings and started studying for a minister's license. It would probably take 4 or 5 years to get it; by then I ought to know what I want to be when I grow up.

Toodles!

Turn it into a mud racing truck? That's what my middle DD and SIL would do.. LOL

Glad to hear from you! You do sound busy, but it sounds like most of it is things you want to do, so that's great! Our pastor always talks about people "re-tooling" rather than retiring...studying for a minister's license sounds like a great way to re-tool.

At least you know what you want to be when you grow up. I'm still trying to figure it out.

Congrat's on your studying to be a minister. Sounds like you are busy and doing great! I like that you leave your mind open to new opportunities. Keep up your great work! How did you figure out what you wanted to be?

You are certainly busy! Nice second career! I decided to be the child I never got to be :) With responsibilities, of course :( Getting in touch with my inner child is way more fun than figuring out what I want to be when I grow up!

I don't know that I ever really figured anything out. I have loved reading and studying the bible for about 40 years now, and it just seemed like a logical progression to do it in a structured way. I have no "calling" to be a pastor of a church, but I like teaching, and ministering to people that can't get out, such as shut-ins, nursing home people, hospitals, and just helping administer church efforts in general. If you knew me, you would find that quite extraordinary, since the majority of those 40 years were lived quite contrary to the attitude I now embrace.
