T Dillon's Journal, 09 February 2018

OK I received a few replies to my post yesterday and figured I'd try to address them. First thing is I do appreciate the responses.
I understand the concerns of eating to few calories and having adverse issues associated with it. My dilemma is that I have a wicked bad thyroid and take a lot of medication for it. I've dealt with this most of my life. It use to be I could lose weight at 1200 calories a day. Then at 800. Now 800 isn't working. I've been through this multiple times. I have many doctors and I have my blood profiles done every 90 days. I also see a nutritionist regularly. She doesn't really approve of my situation either.
Meals: I am past the point of keeping a journal of my diet since I now follow a lifestyle I have adopted from keeping one for the last 6 months. It has become my new normal to be cognitive about what I eat. My meals are fairly basic since I do not have a kitchen and live on a $5 a day food budget (if I'm lucky). At this point I eat an orange for breakfast, a can of soup for lunch (reduced sodium is a must) and a lean cuisine for dinner. I only drink water, no more 2 two liter diet sodas.
Carbs: Protein and carbs are 4.5 kilo-calories per gram while fat is 9. Your body will only store carbs as fat, Fat is not stored as fat.
Diabetes: October 18, 2017 is my last verifiable weight at 299. I gave up all forms of sugar except for fructose from oranges and some from from the carbs I eat in the food I can afford. Actually sugar is a carb. Anyhow last year my A1C was at 11. 6 months ago it was at 7.7. Last month it was at 5.0. My doctor took me off my inject-able insulin and halved my pills. I now maintain a daily blood sugar level of around 90 instead of the 250+ it use to be.
My overall health is poor and always will be. 10 years ago, when I was 46 I had a triple bypass when I was homeless. Since then I have had 7 more heart procedures and 3 strokes that I was hospitalized for. I had preventative stroke surgery on my neck last December. I take around 25 pills a day along with three inhalers. I gave up smoking 3 or 4 years ago after 40 years of 2+ packs a day. I did that to contribute to the work all my doctors were doing for me. Now I need to take off the pounds to hopefully improve my health as much as I can.

Thanks
