Feel so depressed. Ate a whole family feast KFC meal all by myself last night and feel so sick this morning. Gained 2kg overnight. Not exercising as much as I want to and have had to move away from home for the first time in my life. So between living in another state from my family and friends, being extremely lonely and having major depression I feel I am the slippery slope t o nowhere.

Will have to try to do better today.

Yep Patty its just astounding to know there are such great human beings and they seem to be here on FS.... I'm impressed as all get up with this outpouring of friendship;)

Sometimes life is like that. I used to eat whenever I was depressed or in pain. Since using FS I am much more careful about eating for the “right” reasons. I still have trouble with desserts when I am at a gathering - just eat and eat. I know from personal experience how hard it is to eat responsibly. Good luck! Don’t lose hope! Find alternate ways to be nice to yourself, not using food. In the long run, it only leads to feeling sorry you did it

Motivational and educational youtube videos really help me to stick with it and keep the way I want to feel in the forefront of my mind. I love watching Gauge Girl right now, inparticular. She's a food scientist and a big promoter of mental health first. You CAN.

Can you find a counselor? Or get out and volunteer. Or both. Hope you feel better soon.

I’m sorry to hear about your troubles. I understand where you are coming from. Left family and friends last year and am lonely to. I found that when I am down I listen to a pod cast called mental illness happy hour. It’s free and is new every Friday. I also found a job I love! Just remember there are people that love you at home and when you go visit it will be that much more special!

Hang in there. The depression is tough. it helps me to micromanage my schedule with all the things I know I am supposed to do. It takes alot of focus and it helps get me past the funk. We all fall off the eating truck, the trick for me (and the hard part) is to arrest the behavior quick. I find that as soon as I see it to stop and take the next right step. I don't beat myself up with self talk and I avoid the "tomorrow, after this weekend, in a couple days" I will get back on track. Sorry I don't mean to ramble or preach. Hang in there tomorrow will be better.

Look how loved you are! Lots of encouraging comments. Don't get down on yourself. Best thing to do when you are depressed is to get a routine going and stick to it. If you don't for fill the routine you just start fresh the next day. Do at least one thing ogf the routine a day then work your way up. You can not give up on yourself.

Depression is an evil thing. The blues are temporary, but depression lives despite the facts of a sunny day and good things happening. Exercise in the sunshine, or under a full spectum bulb. You are not alone! Doctors diagnosed me with depression and for many years I suffered. Then, I married someone with it. Eliminating wheat (and all gluten because I have Celiac) helped. Ridding myself of ALL sugar, incluing fruit, finally got rid of depression. I look back at the soupy fog of my life and wish that I would have followed this WOE half a century earlier! See how many support you? You will find them in real life by smiling at someone. Your own smile helps your own brain to release the endorphins that fight the dark cloud. It also tells people that you might be worth knowning. Best wishes!

Depression is horrible but I think a routine helps. Try not to feel upset about overeating, we've all been there :) a lot of the overnight gain is probably just the food mass rather than fat. Today is a new day so chin up and move forward :)

Spend the day drinking water, saying happy things to strangers and dreaming of happy times. Your body will forgive you that disgusting KFC, but stop hanging out with silly sods who eat it!!!!!

I had chocolate mild and ice coffee cos it was a hot day oh and sugary fizzy drink but im gonna start fresh tomorrow you can too

Can you access a coach or counsellor to help process the feelings so you dont have to eat them? Helped me a LOT
