I'm still struggling...........afraid to step on the scale. I'm trying to figure out what triggered this set back. I do best when I eat the same things most of the time. It gets boring, but I can usually stick to it if I know I will lose weight. I think maybe I tried to make too many changes at the first of the year. No red meat: so far that is not a problem at all. No processed food including processed meat: the processed meat is not usually a problem, but I can't give up all processed food. No dairy: that's been a struggle so I bought a half gallon of skim milk to make hot chocolate, my daily treat. Now that I've used it all I think I'll try again. I was making a small cup of hot chocolate using almond milk before buying the skim milk. I think I'll try that again when I need the hot chocolate, which is most days. The toughest thing has been giving up diet soda. I know there is no nutritional value in it at all but it really kept me going. I told my doctor about it and he said to at least try not to have diet cola. I think that is what I'm addicted to and why I've been struggling so hard. I may start up with the diet sodas again, including diet Pepsi once in awhile and see if that helps. So maybe diet 7-up or ginger ale. Not sure, just know I have to do something to get things right again. I received a fruit infused water bottle for Christmas and it has helped me to drink more water, so that is one positive thing so far in 2018.

Your doing great, don't worry about the scale! You can't expect to give up everything that was a brave move. What I would do is pick one favorite and enjoy it. Stay positive and focused and you will see the results again ❤️

Patty: just don't want to lose the green line it took so long to get. So I probably won't log my weight until I'm back to where I was last time I posted my weight. It's all in my head. I have to be totally committed to succeed on a diet. Sometimes I just lose that commitment. Today has been pretty good. The eating was what I had been doing. Didn't do a long walk, today my knee was bothering me, the other day it was my foot.

That's fine record when your ready, love you unconditionally! Giving your jounts a rest is a wise move. Sometimes the weather hurts my hip, I don't push it. Stay focused and you will see that green line longer!

i am suspicious about the hot chocholate. make sure it is pure cocoa powder. find it in the baking section. the commercial hot chocholate powders are often mostly sugar. i love my cocoa or cacao drinks with skimmed milk 50%

just looked at the nutrition facts on the back of the ghiradelli hot chocolate caramel pack. very misleading designed to hide the true nature of the product. let me decode it. serving size 35g. of which sugars 27g. i compute the product to be 60 percent sugar. ghiradelli prefer to hide that fact behind percentages of an adults daily allowance.
