I've realized something over the last couple of days. I have to be honest with myself in order to make this work for me.
Once I realized just WHAT I had been doing over the last week or so, I also realized that I wasn't doing what one of my friends said we needed to do.... "if you bite, you write". Sorry, I'm not sure which buddy said that, but it's true. If you bite, you need to write. Write it down, log it! By doing that, you'll know what you've eaten and you'll feel accountable to yourself.
Now, don't get me wrong, you CAN enjoy life, but you need to log it when you do. That helps you to remember what you did, and it can also help you to "track" what may, or may not, put some weight on.
By doing this in the past, and analyzing it, I've realized what foods make me bloat, retain water, or just make me feel bad in general from a physical standpoint.
While I'm here, I'll also add that experimentation with foods that you didn't "like" before your new way of eating, now may be something new that you enjoy!
A perfect example of that, for me, is cold smoked salmon. I've NEVER been a fish person, but each year I make around 100 pounds of cold smoked salmon for friends, family, and for sale at local markets.
This week, I've realized that my cold smoked salmon is really good, and perfectly in line with most ALL eating plans!
So, sample the things you thought you didn't like in the past, now that you're eating clean, the new flavor may surprise you!
