When I was dropping weight from 225 to 180, I relied on Diet Dr Pepper for the caffeine to help curb my appetite. Now that I am in the 160's, when I drink Diet Soda, it seems to make me hungrier - I end up drinking water and that helps. Has anyone gone through this?

Studies have shown that sugar substitutes can make you hungrier and also often cause weight gain. Drink water.

That makes sense - I'm doing the cool turkey approach (have a Diet DP with dinner, followed immediately with water) - eventually I'll switch completely to water.

I completely avoided artificial sweeteners my first year on Keto, straight black coffee, unsweetened tea, or plain water did the trick.

Hilda, try adding mint leaves, a squeeze or twist of citrus in your water if you get bored with plain. Unsweetened herbal tea is also really good hot or cold. I used to think I needed sugar or sweetener in coffee and tea and cream in my coffee. Coffee was cold turkey tea was a gradual decrease until it simply didn't matter anymore.
