Still trucking. Wish the weather wasn't SOOOO cold. Supposed to be -51C today with the wind chill. BRRRRR! Tried walking the dog last night, but I think I started to get frost bite on my cheeks, so called it quits. Wanted to get up early and do some exercises (weights, yoga, stretching etc) but the power went out (!) at 4am. Kinda hard to work out in the pitch. I think tonight I will make an effort to get sweaty doing yoga, weights, situps, etc. Sometimes the kids like to join in too, then it's really fun!

So far, no feelings of being deprived. I still feel excited about this change. REally, not much has changed. I eat what I've always eaten, just cut out the crap. Day 17 with out junk food! That has to be worth something. No pop, candy, chips, chocolate bars, fast food, etc. Candy is my real weakness. It is so easy for me to just pop a jujube in my mouth, which almost always leads to 20 jujubes, and hundreds of calories.

I feel very positive about the healthy food choices I'm making for my family too. It is so rewarding to know my kids and husband have nutrious snacks and meals, made by me with love. They may not see it, but I show them I love them by making sure they eat healthy. It brings me such peace to know that I might be stopping the cycle of weight problems with my kids - that this might be the generation that learns a healthy lifestyle from their parents.
